Daily Life

It is starting to feel a lot like Christmas! Noodles is trying to play with the tree. Happy Friday! We are going to see the Van Gogh exhibit at the Denver Art Museum tomorrow. I am looking forward to it a lot. Have a great weekend.

In the Studio

Here is my gallery wall in my studio. The painting in the bottom left corner is almost complete. Now I feel like I need to change things up a bit. I am thinking about going larger. I am not sure how such small detail will translate to a larger panel. What do you think? Feeling productive today but I need to get outside and enjoy the nice weather!

In The Studio

Wow I haven't posted in a while. In the new year I want to make blogging a daily activity. I would love to share my art making. Here is a painting that is in progress. It needs a lot of work but I like where it is going.

Around Town

I found this funny pumpkin patch this afternoon. The pumpkins were going for two for a dollar. What a bargain! Paying was on the honor system. So cute. I took these pictures with my Holga toy camera. I am still figuring out this camera. It is takes pretty dreamy pics but is very unpredictable. Some times the pictures are totally fuzzy, have light leaks, or black areas. But I guess that makes it kinda artsy. It is fun getting them developed and seeing how they turn out.

I took this one over the summer. I think its pretty. Maybe I will blow it up for over the sofa.

Around Town

The farmers' market is a frequent weekend destination for me. Even though I get most of my veggies from a local CSA, I still love to visit the farmers' market to take in the colors and commotion. There are some dang good food stands as well.

DIY

Shell Shadowbox

Well, I am slowly decorating our house bit by bit. I decided to frame my sea shell collection in a shadow box. By the way, it takes a lot of shells to fill up a small shadowbox. Also, it is very hard to control the finished product. It looks one way while it is flat but things shift around when hung on the wall. Overall, I think it is cute and goes with the other natural elements in the room. Eventually I would like to hang a small grouping of prints or paintings on this wall.

In the Laboratory

My rock box.

My painting desk.

The bandit mask!
Here are a few pictures of the Laboratory. I hope to make this a weekly post on what I am working on in my studio. Most of the times it is much messier. Enjoy!

Around Town

Here are some funky yards in my neighborhood. I love to explore by bike. You see so much more that way.
It's the great pumpkin house, Charlie Brown.

The tin man.

A bird house dinosaur head?

Oh no!!!

The Miniature Museum

Well, the prairie dogs will have to wait. My street art adventure is taking longer than planned. In the meantime, check out my Miniature Museum. This weeks exhibition is a carefully curated collection of tiny keys. The admission is only 50 cents! I hope I have some takers. Pill containers can have many uses. Who knew? What should my next exhibition be? I'm thinking of tiny blue things. I'm going to have to be on the look out. Have you read How To Be An Explorer Of The World by Keri Smith. It is a wonderful book full of fun ideas. I think everyone should take time out to just play.

The Olives Are Alive

Ha Ha. Stuffed olives look a little tormented. I have a big street art project in the works. It is pretty exciting. Stay tuned for more on that soon. Here is a one word hint: prairie dogs. Wait that is two words :)

Faces

The faces are everywhere! Welcome to my first post. I hope to share some fun projects, experiments and art making in this space. I was out for a bike ride today and saw this fence post. So much personality. The Googly Eyed Bandit strikes again!
